Superman Returns HD trailer available on Apple.com
Supes is back, June 30, 2006.
Not really much else to say but...Marlon Brando? Batman made a worthwhile return to the box office last year, and even though we don't go to the movies much, we might have to make an exception.

Looking good! Kevin Spacey is going to make a great Lex Luthor. And I wasn't sure about this new guy as Superman until I saw him in the Clark Kent glasses.

I think Bryan Singer will do a great job with the movie based on what he did with the first two X-Men movies. That said, I don't like the look of the movie (at least based on the first trailer).
The kicker for me, though, as a fan of Smallville is that Tom Welling is now Clark Kent / Superman and Michael Rosenbaum is Lex Luthor in my mind. Kevin Spacey is too well known as an actor to suspend my disbelief that he is Lex. Also, for as great as Spacey is, Rosenbaum is simply perfect in the role. He has been balancing intelligence and maniacal drive with the capability for evil bubbling just below the surface for years now. There's way too much invested in Smallville for fans to see this movie as anything but sacrilege.

The Superman mythos existed long before the WB teen-angst melodrama, and will live on long after. To imply that the movie should be tied to any one Superman property (no matter how good or bad) is somewhat naive and short-sighted. (Though the nod to the original John William's score was a nice touch.)
