InterVideo Ulead's DVD Movie Factory 5 supports both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray
InterVideo and partner Ulead are
riding the next-gen DVD coattails at CeBit with the announcement of DVD Movie Factory 5. The $49.95 software hits the
streets later this month; owners of versions 3 and 4 can upgrade for $39.95 directly through Ulead's website. The new version of DVD Movie Factory provides an ad-removal program
called Ad-Zapper to delete commercials from your favorite recordings before dumping them onto DVD. Also in this version
is "future" support for both the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray formats. Sorry China, no EVD support in this go-around.Do we have any readers burning their HD content to DVD? It would be interesting to see what folks are using and how it's working for them.

Wasn't it you guys that told us about HDTVtoDVD? http://www.svcd2dvd.com/HDTV2DVD/
The nice thing about this program is it doesn't screw up the audio sync after you have removed commercials which other programs do. The bad news is if you convert it again for something like the iPod, the audio sync problem shows up again.

Does anyone know if this software, or any others like it, support HD-DVD/Blu-Ray encoding to a standard DVD-9 disc? I read Warner Bros was pushing for HD/DVD-9 (HD-9) a few years back and read a Dvorak column discussing the same thing and he called it DVD-Video version 2.0. I'm guessing that the new toshiba HD-DVD players will support it. Since BD and HD-DVD have red lasers for backward compatibility, it should be a no-brainer to be able to decode H.264, VC-1, etc. content on a DVD-9 disc. I'm dying to burn my captured HD transport streams to disc! It will be forever before we have HD-DVDR's and such and they will take time to become affordable.
Thanks!

There is a long list of Networked DVD players that already play HD transport streams over ethernet or from the DVD tray. The ones I know about all use the Sigma Designs EM8620L digital media processing chip. I personally use the Snazio Net Cinema HD DVD. I record HD programs on my PC and stream to the player. I also can burn the transport stream file to a DVD and play back on the player from the tray. These units playback WMV HD, Divx HD, Xvid, Mpeg1 & 2 but not H264.

That player looks very interesting. Does the output really look HD? I really want to be able to play back full HD resolution. I was looking at the new TIVX HD enclosure, but read that it still had some bugs, and is a very pricey $349. I would not mind spending it, if it worked 100% as advertised. I read alot about the I/O Data Link Player2 but some folks were saying that the output looked no better than upconverted DVD, and I already have an upscaling Denon. Also it cannot play DL DVD's I hear. I don't see any US retailers for teh Snazio? Where did you purchase from? Any issues?
Thanks!

I've come close a couple of times to buying this one. It can be made region free as well which is why I'm more interested in this one over I/O Data's.
