How long have you had your HDTV?
What would the weekend be without a fun poll? This one came about due to a letter I got from Best Buy yesterday. See, my four-year warranty is up next month on my very first HDTV. Sniff, sniff....I remember when the li'l guy could only show SD programming, since there wasn't any HD in my area back then. Anyway, while I decide to renew my warranty or not, why don't you chime in and tell us how long you've had your first HDTV set!

I bought my CRT Mitsu 55" just about one year ago. The only reason I went with CRT and not DLP was price (CRT cost me $1,700 while the 42" DLP was still about $3,000)... of course you can get a 50" DLP for about $2,000 now. Figures!!

I bought my Sony 30" CRT HDTV about 18 months ago. Little but good size for us as we are just living in a small appartment...

Got my Sony 51" HD CRT sometime in July of 2002. Never had any problems with it and the picture still looks great, but I'll probably get a 60" SXRD soon.

I have had my 50" Panny DLP for about a year but my old roommate had 65" CRT for 6 months before I moved out. Never a regret in my life.

Five years for me also. Got my 65" Mits CRT RPTV back in August of 2000. At the time I didn't even have a progressive DVD player. I think my first HD show on this tv wasn't until 2002 or 2003. I imagine I'll keep the tv going until it either dies or I build a new house (4 years down the road).

I was bitten by the bug and purchased a front projector a little over 2 years ago.
Being OCD, I've been obsessed since. ;-)

Props to the homies with their HDTVs for 5 or more years ago. Early adopters rock.
Anyone out there with that 38" RCA CRT with integrated HDTV tuner? That was the first HDTV I ever noticed, and the one I lusted after way back when. I'd still buy one of those if I could find one.

Toshiba 40H80 40" RPTV, December 2000 (Almost 5 years) paired up with a DISH 6000 and a Toshiba SD6200 progressive scan player. Damage? $2500+tax on the Toshiba 40H80, $600 for the SD6200 DVD player, $300 for the DISH 6000. Luckily, several Seattle TV stations were already broadcasting SOME HiDef content (our local PBS, KCTS, being the most) at the time.
