Nero 7 unveiled with high-def DVD support
Nero intros their new digital media software today:
Nero 7. Nero bundled no less than 18 applications in the package, so
there's something for everyone here. Especially of note is "Nero Home"
that provides media streaming capabilities; nice to see more and more
industry folks embracing the "place-shifting" concept that companies
like Orb and Sling Media have pioneered.Nero 7 also includes what they company claims is the fastest MPEG-4 encoder called "Nero Digital." The Nero Digital app is particularly interesting as it allows the copying of unprotected DVD formats to various other formats. Blu-Ray support for BD-RE/R or writing and re-writing to Blu-Ray disks is included. No mention of HD-DVD for this application, which can be had for $99 retail or $79 as a download.

Remember when Easy CD became a tremendous piece of junk? Yeah me too. I've been using Nero ever since. I bet that this product will dominate the market as it has been. Go Nero!

Couple of questions:
Does this work with MCE? Does MCE have this capability (make HD dvds).
Can you burn TV shows to DVD? What exactly is "unprotected content"?
Can regular DVDs hold HD content? Can you get, say, one episode of LOST on DVD?

Does anyone know about the "place-shifting" feature that comes with this software? This one feature makes me interested.
